Our faculty and staff are currently assembling calendars and syllabi for next year's courses. This page will be updated with dates for 2019-20 as soon as possible.
Finalized class schedule with class dates, location, and times will be sent in August. A carpool list will also be sent at that time. The most up-to-date versions of our course calendars will be posted to the UMTYMP Schedules page as soon as they are available.
Students who are registered for UMTYMP Algebra, Math Analysis and Calculus I will receive information in August about our Back to School night, typically held on the Tuesday before Labor Day, i.e. the week before classes start. Students can come to campus, locate their classrooms, meet their instructors and pick up their textbook and syllabus. By Calculus II, students are well acquainted with campus, so there is no Back to School night for Calculus II and III students.
Classes will typically meet 1 day per week. During exam weeks there are two class sessions: one for the test and one for review or new material, depending on the course. In 2018-19, course days are as follows:
Algebra and Geometry/Math Analysis are offered on Thursdays, with occasional Tuesdays.
There will be two sections of Calculus I; students choose between Wednesday or Thursday; during exam weeks all students will attend the exam review on Monday and take the exam on Thursday.
There will be two sections of Calculus II; students choose between Wednesday or Thursday; during exam weeks all students will attend the exam review on Monday and take the exam on Wednesday.
There will be two sections of Calculus III; students choose between Tuesday or Wednesday; during exam weeks all students will attend the exam review on Monday and take the exam on Wednesday.
Please note: during Thanksgiving and MEA weeks, classes typically meet on Monday and Tuesday. See the schedules for each course for more details.
